About the Project
The Centennial Road Widening Project near Egbert Road is expected to take place from Early August through Late November. During construction, crews will complete the project in two phases, with one side of the roadway under construction at a time.
In response to community feedback, starting during the day on Friday, September 4, Centennial Road through the project area will be open to Southbound traffic only through the remainder of the project. Northbound traffic on Centennial Road will need to follow the detour route. Automated stop lights will be removed, and the intersection at Centennial Road/Egbert Road will remain a 3-way stop throughout the project duration.
Detour routes are available as an alternate option for those who prefer to avoid the construction area.
Road Access During Construction
Starting Friday, September 4, Centennial Road will be open to Southbound traffic only. Northbound traffic should follow posted detour routes. This traffic configuration is expected to be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Project Phases
Phase 1: East Side Construction
August Through Mid-September
During Phase 1, crews will construct the east side of Centennial Road. Starting Friday, September 4, Centennial Road will be open to Southbound traffic only. Northbound traffic will need to follow posted detour routes.
Drivers should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the area.
Phase 2: West Side Construction
Mid-September Through Late November
During Phase 2, crews will shift construction to the west side of Centennial Road. Traffic will continue to be Southbound only on Centennial Road. Northbound traffic will need to follow posted detour routes.

Weekly Update - 8/28
UPCOMING TRAFFIC CHANGE & DETOURS
Based on extensive community feedback and consultation with traffic engineers and safety experts, beginning next Friday, September 4th, we will be eliminating the temporary signal lights and transitioning Centennial Road to a one-way southbound pattern for the remainder of the project.
- Southbound Drivers: Traffic will flow freely from north to south through the corridor. You will no longer need to take detour routes.
- Northbound Drivers: You must continue following the northbound detour routes.
- Centennial Road & Egbert Road Intersection: Signals will be removed on Friday, September 4, and the intersection will operate as a temporary 3-way stop for the remainder of construction. It will permanently return to a 4-way stop when construction ends in late November.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Crews are wrapping up work on the east side of Centennial Road and preparing to shift traffic so work can begin on the west lane.
- Monday, August 31: Paving intermediate layers of asphalt on the east side of Centennial Road.
- Tuesday, September 1: Fine grading yard areas and ditch lines along the east side.
- Wednesday, September 2 - Thursday, September 3: Traffic shifts onto the newly paved east side lane. Crews will begin milling on the existing west lane.
- Friday, September 4: Signal lights come down and the one-way southbound traffic pattern takes effect.
All construction activities are weather dependent - any changes will be communicated in next week's update.

Weekly Update - 8/21
TEMPORARY SIGNAL TIMING
Driveway devices and temporary signals are currently active. In response to community feedback regarding extended wait times, we have updated the light timing so that wait times should be approximately 3-5 minutes for the complete cycle.
Crews will continue monitoring the signal and make additional adjustments if needed. Drivers should follow the temporary signals as directed and should not treat the intersection as a four-way stop.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Phase 1 (East Side of Centennial Road)
We continue to make progress on construction on the East Side of Centennial Road.
Next week's work includes base asphalt and curbs.
- Base asphalt will be installed on Tuesday, August 25 & Wednesday, August 26.
- Curb construction is expected to occur on Thursday, August 27 & Friday, August 28.
- Temporary signals will remain in place throughout the completion of both Phase 1 & Phase 2.
All construction activities are weather dependent - any changes will be communicated in next week's update.
INTERSTATE 69 ACCESS
We have received some feedback from the community that the temporary signals are causing increased wait times for commuters accessing I-69 via the Henderson Ford Road Exit. Access to I-69 at Henderson Ford Road will remain open, but we understand that the traffic control devices at Egbert Rd/Centennial Rd can cause additional commute times.
We encourage all drivers accessing I-69 to use the SR-44 Exit via Centennial Road south to SR-44 west (from the south end of the project) or Egbert Road/Morgan Street south to Reuben Drive east (from the north end of the project). Please see the updated detour map on the project website for routes.
Weekly Update - 8/14
SIGNALS
Driveway devices and temporary signals were set up and tested on Thursday, August 13 to ensure everything was functioning properly. The signals will remain in place and will either be flashing red or turned off until the morning of Monday, August 17, when they become active. Starting on Monday, August 17, mailboxes in the work zone will be temporarily removed, secured in 5-gallon buckets, and relocated to the following areas:
- Homes between Egbert Road and Arnold Avenue: Placed on the north side of Arnold Avenue, next to the closure barricades.
- Addresses 3300 and 3260: Placed on the east side of the road near the temporary signal (per the Postmaster).
TRASH
Beginning on Monday, August 17, residents between Egbert Road and Arnold Avenue utilizing Jack's Trash Service will have their trash bins moved by the construction team to the designated trash pickup location on Arnold Avenue (on the north side of the road at the closure barricades). Once trash is picked up, the construction team will move the empty trash bins back to residents' driveways. Residents should plan to have their trash bins taken out to the end of their driveways by the normal time. Residents utilizing Waste Management will have trash service continue as normal and should ensure their trash bins are placed at the end of their driveway.
ROAD WORK
Milling along the east lane will begin the morning of Monday, August 17. Crews will grade subgrade after the milling is complete, then they will install storm sewer drains throughout the middle of the week.
Concrete stabilization is planned for Friday, August 21.
